It’s happened! It’s finally happened! The big “Will You?” and you answered “Will Do!” Feeling a little like Michael Scott during a fire drill yet?!
Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered babe. If you’re just starting the wedding planning journey, we have tons of information to help you get rolling like, how to create your wedding budget, how to choose your wedding colors, and even what to add to your wedding registry. The biggest part of wedding planning though is trying to decide what venue to go with. Just for fun’s sake, I logged on to The Knot and searched reception venues in Kansas City, MO. 430 venues popped up. 430 VENUES POPPED UP. First off, that’s a ridiculous number for the average bride to sort through. I’m exhausted just thinking about it! So today, let’s chat about the venue hunt and our top 3 reasons why a wedding planner is an absolute must.
1. Searching for a Wedding Venue is Time Consuming
For the sake of your sanity, I wanted to know how long it could reasonably take to quick glance check out a wedding venue through a top wedding search website. For this experiment, I worked off the list I already had pulled up earlier, started the stopwatch, and clicked on the first venue that popped up. I briefly scrolled through their profile, checked out a few photos, read the first two reviews, and then clicked on each of their linked social media accounts. I scrolled very quickly through the top few posts before returning back to their profile to find their website. After being directed to their website, I spent a bit more time looking through their information, checking for top venue search drivers: location, included amenities, vendor policy, guest count, and price point (not listed, which is normal – don’t fret!)
Just under five minutes, y’all. Five minutes to quickly vet one venue in a list of 430. We’re talking a 40 hour workweek to search through every single listed venue to find “The One”, not even counting email correspondence, tours, follow up questions, and booking. Add that on top of your career, family time, friend time, and your time? Who even has the time?!
2. Have the Stars Aligned Yet?
And boy, can it feel that way! Like you aren’t offering near enough sacrifices to the gods of wedding planning. Finding a wedding venue that’s your style, in your budget range, during your preferred month that can accommodate your guest count and is in a convenient, accessible location? It seems like an impossible task, doesn’t it? That perfect venue is out there, babe! This is why bringing a wedding planner on to your team from the start will eliminate all the anxiety traditionally tied with venue searching. We are so well plugged into the local industry that we can narrow down that list of 430 to your Top 5 within the week. Our hope is to protect both your time, sanity, and investment during wedding planning. Knowing you have someone on your team who is handling all the logistics to bring your dream day to life? Instant stress reliever! (We’re kind of like that glass of wine after a long day of work…only better 💁🏻♀️)
3. A Wedding Planner Can Actually Help you Save Money
“I’m still not sure… I think I’d rather save the money.” This is the number one thing we hear from brides— They know the value a wedding planner can bring, but the cost seems wild. And I get that! 100%. I was in exactly the same place when I started wedding planning, which is why I WISH someone would have told me how worth it a planner truly was. While the upfront cost of a full wedding planner may seem like a large chunk of your wedding budget, in the long run, it may actually save you money. And who doesn’t want to save money?! Your wedding planner has a deep network of connections and knows the best vendors to lead you to based on your budget, style, and personality. Not only are they your number one advocate, but they can also be your number one advantage to more easily bringing your wedding-day vision to life.
A wedding planner can help you find the perfect wedding venue and save you time and money!
