Just for fun’s sake, I logged on to The Knot and searched reception venues in Kansas City, MO. 430 venues popped up. 430 VENUES POPPED UP. First off, that’s a ridiculous number for the average bride to sort through. I’m exhausted just thinking about it! So today, let’s chat about the venue hunt and our top 3 reasons why a wedding planner is an absolute must.
For the sake of your sanity, I wanted to know how long it could reasonably take to quick glance check out a wedding venue through a top wedding search website. For this experiment, I worked off the list I already had pulled up earlier, started the stopwatch, and clicked on the first venue that popped up. I briefly scrolled through their profile, checked out a few photos, read the first two reviews, and then clicked on each of their linked social media accounts. I scrolled very quickly through the top few posts before returning back to their profile to find their website. After being directed to their website, I spent a bit more time looking through their information, checking for top venue search drivers: location, included amenities, vendor policy, guest count, and price point (not listed, which is normal – don’t fret!)
Just under five minutes, y’all. Five minutes to quickly vet one venue in a list of 430. We’re talking a 40 hour workweek to search through every single listed venue to find “The One”, not even counting email correspondence, tours, follow up questions, and booking. Add that on top of your career, family time, friend time, and your time? Who even has the time?!
