⁣Oooo this is a tough one! There are SO many pieces of advice I could say are “my best” *𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘨 😏* But today, the best piece of advice I can offer is this— remember that wedding planning is a 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 not a 𝘴𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵. ⁣

Wedding inspiration, wedding planning, and wedding purchases can quickly become all consuming. We become overwhelmed with information and begin to believe that if we aren’t focused on wedding planning 24/7 in the off-time that it won’t be a successful, stress free event. ⁣

I’m here to tell you the opposite! (𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘐?!) Step back and take a breath. Time block your schedule to include just a handful of hours dedicated towards wedding planning and wedding conversation each week. Focus the rest of your time on together-activities and truly allow yourself some stress free time 🖤⁣

I’ve sat down to write social media captions no less that 57 times over the past few weeks. And each time I just felt 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱. The constant theme and feeling over the last few weeks has been one of 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 and 𝘢𝘯𝘹𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺. Feelings that I’d tried to shame myself for having and ignore, anticipating the problem would resolve itself. *𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘵 - 𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 ⁣

It wasn’t until I faced these feelings and gave them intentional focus that I truly began to feel “better”. ⁣

I can’t even imagine that if I, as an industry professional who 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 my couples and what I do, am feeling this way…how must couples around KC be feeling? ⁣

I swear, every time I think we’ve heard it all another new gem surfaces! There’s a lot of bad advice out there on the interwebs, babe. Earlier this week, we chatted about some of the differences between pro-wedding vendors and the hustlers. There are so many amazing, amazing vendors here in Kansas City! And more often not they are the best in their creative and styling field. Their vision and personality is right in line with yours, their artistry above and beyond, and you feel like they just “get” you. But here in part 2, we want to highlight what makes a wedding vendor not just a good wedding vendor, but a 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 wedding vendor ⁣

💍 They understand the value in great communication. They’re quick in their responses, accurate in the information they provide, and go above & beyond to provide their knowledge as a resource. There’s a general belief that if you aren’t over-communicating, you’re not communicating⁣

💍 They want to help you understand, not leave you with more questions. Pro wedding vendors not only respond quickly (in perspective— we’re talking 48 hours business-day versus an entire week), but they answer your questions in it’s entirety— what you asked, and what you didn’t ask. They help to eliminate frustrating back and forth by asking in-depth learning questions, knowing what you need often without you even asking ⁣

💍 They have a well-defined contract and process, and can clearly explain to you what your working process together will look like. Part of the benefit to hiring a pro-vendor is that they know 𝘌𝘟𝘈𝘊𝘛𝘓𝘠 how to protect both you the client and them the business, and can outline just what your working roadmap together will look like. ⁣

💍 They’re well connected and knowledgeable about the local industry. Want to know the fastest way to tell a pro wedding vendor versus not? They’ll refuse to gossip or speak ill about other industry partners with you. 👏⁣
