The term ‘𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨’ has really become an all-inclusive term. Believe it or not, there’s a few different types of weddings we could be referencing when using that phrase. ⁣

Let’s break it down! ⁣

• 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆: ⁣
This one’s easy! The wedding ceremony is what “𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺” — name that movie 😉. The ceremony is the official act of uniting two souls in marriage. The ceremony can take different forms, civil or religious, and can be as unique or traditional as what speaks to you, and is the only requirement to having a wedding. ⁣
⁣
• 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆: ⁣
Minimonies are smaller versions of the ceremony, usually 10 people or fewer, including a photographer and officiant. To host a minimony, gather an officiant, photographer, and your closest loved ones, and head to the location. This can be on the beach or in your backyard, as long as it feels special to y’all. Once you’re there, exchange your vows, take photos, and soak in every second of this special moment with your partner and loved ones. ⁣

• 𝗘𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: ⁣
When you think of elopements, images of couples running to city hall or heading to a dreamy mountaintop probably pass through your mind. Elopements are intimate unions, typically between the couple, an officiant, and a witness. If you and your partner want to get married quickly or just prefer to share this special moment in private, this might be the best choice for you!⁣

• 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: ⁣
Micro weddings are quite literally smaller versions of traditional weddings, meant for 50 people or fewer. The event timeline will start with the ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour and reception, and will include all of the traditions that are important to the couple. ⁣

• 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻/𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴:⁣
aka — THE PARTY 💃 Think food, drinks, dancing and fun as we celebrate the newly married couple. Technically, you can still have a wedding without hosting a reception. But looking at Sarah’s face in this final photo, we’re not sure we’d want to! ⁣
